Terms and Conditions
“Thank you for choosing My Little Bite. We’re honoured to be part of your celebration.”
1. Introduction
My Little Bite Cake is a registered home bakery based in Wokingham, United Kingdom. We specialise in handcrafted bakery products including cakes, cupcakes, and seasonal treats, all freshly prepared with care and creativity. These Terms and Conditions govern the sale and supply of our products and services, whether purchased through our online store or arranged via bespoke consultation. By placing an order with us, you agree to the terms outlined below.
2. Sales Channels
We operate through two distinct ordering channels:
Online Orders:
Our website offers a selection of bakery products available for direct purchase. These items are priced and payable in full at checkout. All orders must be placed at least three full days in advance. While we envisage supporting all our customers with urgent requests, fulfilment remains subject to time constraints, ingredient availability, and the feasibility of sourcing all necessary materials. Additional charges may apply for urgent changes or expedited production.
Bespoke Custom Orders:
For personalised bakery products, including themed cakes and tailored designs, customers are invited to contact us via phone or text to discuss their requirements. These items are presented on our website as showcases and are not priced for direct purchase. Following consultation, we will provide a quotation as soon as possible, typically within two working days. A 50% deposit is required to confirm all bespoke orders, with the remaining balance due one day prior to delivery or collection.
3. Order Confirmation and Payment
Customers will receive a confirmation notice once their order has been accepted. It is the customer’s responsibility to review the order and notify us of any errors no later than five full working days before the scheduled delivery or collection. Orders cannot be amended once processed. For urgent orders, any requested changes may incur an additional charge and are subject to feasibility.
4. Cancellation and Rescheduling
We understand that plans can change, and we will always do our best to support our customers. While all orders are non-refundable, we accept rescheduling requests provided we receive at least five full days’ notice. We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate your new date, subject to availability and production capacity. For clarity, the day of order placement is considered Day 0, with subsequent days counted from Day 1 onward.
5. Delivery and Collection
We offer delivery within approx. 9-mile radius of Emmbrook, Wokingham. Delivery charges are calculated automatically at checkout for online orders, and will be clearly itemised in your invoice. For bespoke orders, delivery fees are included in the quotation provided after consultation.
For locations beyond our standard delivery radius, delivery may be possible subject to discussion and availability. We do not exclude distant orders, but delivery charges and feasibility will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
If no one is available to receive the delivery, we may attempt delivery to your neighbour or according to your instruction upon contact. Redelivery fees may apply if the initial attempt fails. Products not collected on the agreed date will be held for 24 hours, after which we cannot guarantee freshness or availability.
For other details, please refer to our Cake Collection & Delivery policy.
6. Product Care and Storage
All bakery products are freshly prepared and best consumed on the day of delivery or collection. Storage and consumption guidelines vary by product type:
Buttercream Cakes:
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Buttercream cakes should be kept at ambient room temperature (18–21°C) and consumed within 2–3 days. Refrigeration is not recommended unless the room temperature exceeds safe limits, as it may alter the texture and flavour.
Fresh Cream Cakes:
Must be refrigerated immediately upon receipt and stored at 0–5°C. These cakes are best consumed within 24 hours of delivery or collection. Extended exposure to room temperature may compromise food safety and product quality. We advise customers to avoid transporting fresh cream cakes in warm vehicles or without proper cooling support.
Non-edible decorations such as wires, dowels, or toppers must be removed before serving. We follow UK Food Safety Guidelines and recommend that all customers adhere to these instructions to ensure safe consumption.
Fondant Decorations
Decorative elements made from fondant should be stored at room temperature in a dry, shaded area.
- Do not refrigerate, as moisture may cause softening, colour bleeding, or cracking.
- These decorations are edible but may contain non-edible supports such as wires, skewers, or floral tape — please remove all structural elements before serving.
- If intended for consumption, fondant decorations should be enjoyed within 1 week of delivery. Decorations kept beyond this period are best retained for display only.
7. Cake Serving Guidance
Serving sizes vary depending on cake dimensions and cutting style. We invite customers to visit our dedicated Cake Serving Guidance page for detailed recommendations on portioning and presentation.
8. Allergens and Food Safety
We take food safety and allergen management with utmost seriousness. All products are prepared in a kitchen that handles common allergens including gluten, milk, eggs, nuts (including peanuts, almonds, walnuts, cashews, and coconut), sesame, and soya. While we take every reasonable precaution to minimise cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee that traces of these allergens will not be present.
Customers with allergies or dietary restrictions are strongly advised to contact us prior to placing an order. Allergen information is clearly labelled on each product in accordance with UK government regulations. We comply fully with the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and Environmental Health requirements, and our procedures are regularly reviewed to ensure legal compliance.
My Little Bite shall not be held liable for any adverse reactions resulting from the consumption of our products or contact with ingredients used in our kitchen.
9. Product Characteristics and Decorations
All bakery products are handmade and decorated individually. As such, minor variations in appearance, texture, and finish may occur. Buttercream cakes may display natural air pockets or strokes due to their artisanal nature. Photographs and descriptions on our website and social media are for illustrative purposes only.
For decorative purposes, some products may include non-edible components such as sugar flowers, fondant figurines, dummy tiers, floral tape, wires, toothpicks, bamboo sticks, styrofoam, acrylic toppers, or wooden supports. These must be removed before serving. We advise customers to exercise caution and supervise children when serving decorated cakes.
10. Complaints and Resolution
Due to the perishable and custom nature of our products, all items are non-returnable.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
If you believe there is an issue with your order, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery or collection, providing photographic evidence and relevant order details. For complaints relating to design, taste, or texture, we may request the product be returned for inspection. If we agree with the complaint, a suitable refund, credit, or discount will be offered at our discretion.
In the event of a delivery failure due to accident or fault on our part, we will provide a full refund. However, we are unable to offer further compensation for consequential or emotional distress.
All deliveries and collections require a signature or confirmation to acknowledge that the product has been received in satisfactory condition. Once accepted, we cannot be held responsible for damage incurred thereafter.
11. Extreme Weather and Force Majeure
In the event of extreme weather or unforeseen circumstances such as illness, power outage, or transport disruption, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer rescheduling. For full details, please refer to our Cake Collection & Delivery policy. Refunds are not guaranteed and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
12. Marketing and Photography
We reserve the right to photograph our bakery products and use these images for marketing purposes, including on our website, social media, and promotional materials.
We are committed to complying with all applicable data protection regulations and respect the privacy of our clients. We will never disclose personal details, event information, or identifiable photographs without prior consent.
All personal data is handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK GDPR framework. We maintain internal privacy practices to ensure that all marketing and promotional activity is conducted lawfully and respectfully.
